This week we learned all about America, our national symbols, and a few presidents and it was so much fun! Of course, we had some fun centers, and we did some cool activities during theme time. I totally forgot to snap a picture of our cute "George Washingtons" and "Abes" from Cara over at First Grade Parade...and our lovely "Statue of Libertys" from Deanna. I will get those pictures and get them posted soon. Here are pictures of some of our centers that can be found in my God Bless America unit plus more!
we worked with a partner to add pennies
we measured Lincoln's hat with pennies...they loved it!
Lincoln's hat made out of an oatmeal can wrapped in black paper...this is what we used to draw the stars out of...so fun!
this was a "read the room" activity
cvc and ccvc spelling
Another fun week! Happy weekend to all! Freebies to come...soon, plus I'm working on a post answering lots of e-mail questions.
I love the "How Tall is Lincoln's Hat" activity! Great idea to use pennies!

ReplyDeleteWhat I love about your article is that it is unique and loaded with substance which really captivates me. Some of the blogs today are not very informative and that is why site visitors will not read the full post. But yours was different. I'd like to thank my friend also for referring your blog to me. Hope to see more of this. Keep it up!
