So, today was my first day back...away from my little sweetie, but I got to see my other 19 sweeties. It really was a great day. The kids were great! It was kinda like I never left. Everything was smooth running...we were even DIBELED today and that was great too! I still need a few days to get back into the swing of the routine. However, I jumped right in and began making my newest unit on Weather. I'm so excited to teach this next week. I haven't taught a full week of weather in a few years. I've got some fun ideas. Here's the preview of the weather unit. Thursday is our 100th day of school! Have you had yours yet? Check back this weekend for pictures. Click the pictures to visit the unit.
Surprise! I'll give this unit to 2 people... Just tell me what the weather is like where you live. :)
This kept me busy for a few hours tonight...

ReplyDeleteWhen I woke up this morning it was 0 degrees out, but we did end up in double digits with a high of 12! Hoping the wind chill is high enough tomorrow that we can go outside for recess. We go outside as long as the wind chill is above 10 degrees!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear your first day back went well! :)

We returned from Christmas break on January 3rd and have only had TWO outside recess days...!!!! BUT we are hoping to be outside the next three days!! Thanks for the chance to win!

I am in western WA ( Seattle area) and its been super cold and foggy! We are supposed to get rain tomorrow and it will be a welcome change because it usually means that it warms up a little. Cold without a snow day isn't fun! Fingers crossed :)
ReplyDeleteWow, what a great looking unit! Today was 50 degrees and sunny (albeit very windy) in our location in Denver. My kiddos LOVED running around in the wind during recess, they kept pretending to get blown away over the fence and needing to be rescued! :) They were also so excited to add another Windy day on our class weather graph.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a good first day back and thanks for the chance to win!

25 degrees for me right now. Way too cold. I'm a winter wimp. I'm ready for summer!
ReplyDeletesarah.marcum@gmail.com
It has been single digit lows and hasn't been above 30 in a few weeks. Plus add bad air quality because of the inversion. We haven't had many outdoor recess days because of the cold and bad air. I can't wait for it to get above freezing.

It's always mid to high 80s here in Maui, Hawaii. However, the past couple of days it has been in the high 70s which I've been loving. This native New Yorker is not used to hot, hot, hot all the time. :) Welcome back to the classroom.

I think I am in Florida. At least the last time I checked I was; however, it feels more like the Arctic Tundra today. Well, maybe not the Arctic, but it is pretty darn cold! I woke up to a high of 38 degrees. Now come on! If it is going to get cold...at least it could get down to 32 so we could have a little fun with it. You know, frost of the windows...the only way we can build a snowman in Florida. Yes, it is the tiniest snowman you will ever see. Also, you better get your cameras out FAST because it will melt within minutes.
ReplyDeleteSo that's it from the Arctic Tundra...otherwise known as Florida. I have to go now. I am going to auto start my car from inside so that it will be a toasty 80 degrees.
Happy Blogging!
