Try it Tuesday and Randomness

Hi friends!  It's Tuesday...almost mid-week.  Can you believe it's November?!?!  I can't believe I'm teaching my littles about Thanksgiving already!  My baby girl turned 8 this weekend!  What?  She cannot be 8!  We had so much fun at our outdoor (moved to indoor) Ella Enchanted Evening party!  If you wanna see a little of that randomness follow me on Instagram HERE.

Keeping with all the randomness I had a hodgepodge of photos I wanted to share with y'all.  Keep reading for a fun treat!

Last week we wrote about what we were dressing up as for Halloween...

We made these cutie little Life Cycle of a Pumpkin books...Not sure where the pictures came from...I've had them for years!

Have you read Crankenstein by Samantha Berger?  It's adorable!  Great for talking about feelings and it's just plain fun.  We made these Crankensteins and made a class chart about what makes us cranky and what makes us happy.
Don't judge the last minute chart...;)
Aren't these adorable?  Love how funky they are.  We read Too Many Pumpkins by Linda White...like we do every year.  I absolutely love that book...it's at the top of the list of my favorite fall books.  Then, we wrote about what we wouldn't like too many of and what we would love too many of.
Here's our "after Halloween" hall display...oh well.
Now for the treat.  We are loving our hands-on math journals and I want you to be able to try it out for yourself if you want.  Here's a couple of examples of ones we have done...numbers 5 & 6.  I like how there's several things the students have to think about for a particular number.  I also like how this can be an independent activity once they learn how to complete the page.

Wanna try these in your classroom?  You got it.  You can grab numbers 6 & 7 for FREE to try in your classroom.  Click HERE to grab your copy.
If you grab it I would love for you to rate it.  :)
Keep checking my blog and Facebook page for more Try it Tuesdays!!

    1. I haven't "taught" addition per say...we haven't covered that in Go Math, our math series, yet, but we have def. started talking about combinations of numbers. I won't "test" it until we cover it in our math series which won't be for a couple more weeks.
