Community Helpers Literacy Centers

I don't know how else to start this but, Oh. My. Goodness!  Our centers this week have been So. Much. Fun!  I was so excited to introduce them to my little kinder friends...I think these are the most fun centers we've done, and of course so much learning is happening all at the same time!  I'm posting our literacy centers tonight, and math centers will come later this week.  I will be posting my new Community Helpers unit tonight, but before you can even buy you can win it!  I will use random.org to pick 2 lucky friends to give this unit away to!  Contest ends tonight!

ending sounds

we loved the sight word reflection game last week, that we did it again...with a different theme

Okay, so they have to get a trash ball un-wad it (is that a word?) and read the word to see if it's "trash" or "treasure"...how much fun is that?

We are chefs flippin' cookies to read sight words...

I thought this would be too easy for my kiddos, but it was challenging for a few of them...they had to really pay attention to the way letters are formed and where they sit on the line...great practice!

Okay, so ready, set, comment!  Maybe you will follow my blog while you are here!
Happy Valentine's Day!

  102. I saw your trash and treasure sight word game on Pinterest and loved the rest of the blog's ideas! We did very similar centers when we did Community Helpers in my classroom.
For What's Up, Doc? maybe provide them with the letters printed with lines so there is more of a visual for the students. Use a font like Penmanship Print that provides the lines as the letters are typed.
Great ideas! Thanks for sharing on your blog.

  105. I'm a little confused as to why it isn't for free to help other teachers or at least sell it for a small fee for the entire packet. Seems a bit unhelpful as you do not want us to re-create it on our own either.
