Farm-The Latter Half

Hello friends!  This was our last week learning all about farms and farm animals.  We also concluded our unit with the annual Farm Day at BSLK.  Mrs. Estes does a fabulous job putting it all together!  Our whole school enjoys the day.  To say the least, I'm pooped...so let the pictures begin!

Coin roll

Telling time and drawing the correct time on the clocks

We reviewed odd and even numbers with higher numbers...to 18 because we had 18 eggs.

I used the barns again from Target to practice counting to 30...I used die-cut foam mini animals as counters...(hint-color code and it will be easy to keep things from getting mixed up plus it's a quick visual to see if they "did it all".

Here we wrote the sight word, color word, and the number after counting mud spots on the pig

 "Maa"th addition
These are the flowers in a kid version from our plants unit...the kids always turn out MUCH cuter than my sample
I forgot to snap a pic several weeks ago of the March Problem Solving unit from Kathleen Pedersen...these are great.  Check 'em out!

Our circle map of FARMS

I got this adorable idea from a teacher at school...It's Farmer Tig wearing a Wig

The cutest goats you ever did see!!

Our Farm Fact Book

We read The Very Busy Spider and made a flow map

How much is your name worth?  This was a bit challenging, but several of my kiddos did an awesome job counting those coins!

If you don't have this book...get it!  So darn cute!
We made "silly faces" and wrote about who makes us laugh!

I love these big animals from Kim Jordano at Kinderbykim so...guess what?  We made them too!

We read Mrs. Wishy Washy's Farm and made these cute little things!
We practiced kid writing and wrote this poem...and they all have their own too.

Farm-The First Half...

We began our 2 week long Farm unit this week.  It was a busy week though because...Jack Hartmann came!  Boy was he fun!  And, that's another post, but we squeezed in what we could.  Below is pictures of what we did mainly during centers.  I'll post the rest of our farm fun next week!

build a sentence pocket chart story...they had to write the whole sentence for this center (forgot to snap a pic of the recording sheet)

Spin it Sight Words...I got this GREAT idea from Mrs. Morrow...the kids LOVED it.

Animals sounds on the farm

Vowel Barn sorting...okay, found these cute barns at Target a couple of years ago.

They had to choose two items from each barn and use kid-writing to write the words

build-a-clock center...they drew number tiles from the mini bucket to put the numbers on their clock

This speckled cow game is counting to 30!

Our Famers...cute, cute!

Our Cow fact book...this little moo cow has three pages with a fact on each page.

Check back next week for more Farm Fun!
