Valentine Centers

Okay. So, I was terrible at snapping pictures this week, but I wanted y'all to see what we were up to during centers because they were so fun!  But first, our story this week was Goldilocks and the Three Bears and we heard that she broke our principal's chair and was seen running through the building once.  She knocked on our door and left us a surprise...I forgot to snap a pic (again) of the little surprise, but how cute are these little darlins peeking out the door?!?  They were so excited!  Notice all the girls ran to see if they could catch a glimpse of her.

We tasted porridge and graphed whether we liked it or not...guess what?  Totally forgot to take a picture of our cute little graph...but here's some of our reactions...

So, on to the centers...

You can find all of these centers plus more in my Happy Hearts Valentine Unit.
I am *almost* ready to post my Community Helpers Unit and my Presidents Unit...
Hope everyone has an awesome weekend!

  5. Hi Julie! I love your idea about Golidlocks! Can you tell me a little bit more about what you did? We are deep in our fairy tale unit and are about to start doing Goldilocks for shared reading. Last summer I went to Europe on a grant to explore fairy tales and my kids are eating it up! Your idea would be great!

    Thanks!

    1. Hi Carmen,
Our reading coach does this every year because school wide we read Goldilocks in our reading series...they just announce that Goldilocks broke the principal's chair and might be running through the school...we know to keep our door closed for the surprise...

    2. Thanks Julie! Thanks for all your great ideas! I really love your blog. I've yet to purchase any thing from your store (I am on a REALLY tight budget this year) but I love that it looks like your products might not be as ink heavy. Ink is also a bit expensive... :)

Do you happen to have the questions they ask? I am thinking of a way that I could adapt the idea to my room.

      Thanks!

  6. Hi Mrs. Lee! I just posted this am about my valentine centers. Your ideas are great! I like the tally marks the best. That is always a tough concept for my kids. Here is my link if you want to check out a few of my centers this upcoming week.

  7. I am about to buy a good bit of your centers and prepare them for next year since this year is almost over and I don't want to change the way I rotate centers, but can you explain how you work your centers best? Are they by the week or two weeks..etc? I like to teach by theme but I have to save center time also for teacher time which according to the curriculum we use, goes by a week to week basis. Thanks!

  8. Anonymous (Feb. 12 ~ 8:01 am) I guess that is your loss if you are choosing not to purchase any of Deanna Jumps and Julie Lee's Units. They both share GrEaT ideas on their blog (I am a visual person and love all the pictures they post, freebies, and AmAZinG Units for sale. Thanks you ladies for being InCreDiaBle teachers who share with others!!! Amber

    1. Amber, you are so sweet to "take up" for us! I don't know why people have to be so negative...some people should just learn to keep their negativity to themselves! But, thanks for being a good friend! :)

    1. Hi Brenna's
Our reading coach does the whole goldilocks thing since we read this story school-wide in our reading series. She announces that Goldilocks broke the principal's chair and might be running through the school...she knocks and leaves us a surprise along with 5 questions to get us thinking about the story....
I do have a tpt store...the link is
